Exam Results

At Rookwood we pride ourselves on maintaining high academic standards. We were delighted with our excellent 2017 GCSE results, 91% of students gained five or more A*- C or 9-4 grades with half of the grades being B or above.

English Language, English Literature and Mathematics have been examined under the new GCSE grading system.

Whilst there is not an exact match from the previous system to the new system it is possible to equate grades 9-7 as being equivalent to the A* and A grades and grade 4 being equivalent to grade C.

The percentage of pupils gaining 5 or more GCSEs at grade C and/or grade 4 or better is 91%. The percentage including those entered for English Language and Mathematics is 88%.

The value-added measure, obtained from the difference of actual grades and externally generated predicted grades, is 0.4 for this cohort. This is a measure of the amount by which pupils exceed expectations for each GCSE subject. This figure means that, on average, each pupil in each GCSE taken achieves 0.4 of a grade higher than expected (nearly half a grade per subject).
